14.20 Rigid body transformation

Products: ABAQUS/CAE  ABAQUS/Viewer

Benefits: When you transform analysis results to a user-defined coordinate system, you can now remove the effects of rigid body motion with respect to a moving, user-defined coordinate system from the display of both primary variable and deformed variable nodal vector results. This enhancement enables you to display relative deformations with respect to the coordinate system that you specify.

Description: The new Rigid Body Transformation options enable you to display results relative to the overall transformation of the entire model. You can display this relative deformation for the results of the primary variable, the deformed variable, or for both of these variables. When the Primary variable option is selected, ABAQUS/CAE removes the effect of the rigid body transformation for the currently selected nodal vector primary variable in your results; when the Deformed variable option is selected, the same transformation is performed for the currently selected deformed variable. Figure 14–19 shows the location of these new options on the Transformation page of the Result Options dialog box.

You can specify rigid body transformations only when you select a user-defined coordinate system for your results transformation.
