Mini-Studio: Integrations

Background

We’ve already seen how webhooks can be used to integrate Particle services. Of course, WebHooks are used for more than just IoT.

Objectives

The objectives of today’s Studio are:

• Review available integrations and webhooks!

1. Studio Setup

As usual, you should work in a group. Your usual group of four is desirable, but not required. There is no GitHub repo to get/commit.

2. Studio: Choose-your-own Integration Adventure

Particle includes tutorials on four popular integrations that we haven’t yet covered. Decide on one (perhaps one that is relevant to your project) and review it thoroughly:

• Google Cloud Platform
• Google Maps
• Azure IoT Hub
• InfluxData

You should be able to answer the following questions:

• What services does the integration provide?
• Why might someone want to use the integration?
• What’s needed to use it? (Account? Are there costs?)
• What are the basic steps needed to set it up?
• Sketch a sequence diagram showing one use-case of the integration.

• Show a TA your progress and any discoveries
