7.5 Evaluating viscoelastic materials based on frequency data

Benefits: You can now use frequency-dependent test data to evaluate viscoelastic materials in ABAQUS/CAE.

Description: You can use frequency data to evaluate time domain viscoelasticity. To evaluate a viscoelastic material, you must define viscoelasticity in conjunction with elastic or hyperelastic material data.

When you evaluate viscoelasticity based on frequency data, the normalized plots of response over time for stress relaxation and creep are not available. Instead, ABAQUS/CAE plots the following results in the Visualization module on a logarithmic scale of frequency values:

Figure 7–3 shows an example of the storage component for the shear moduli ratio.
