2.14 Enhancements to model lighting in ABAQUS/CAE

Product: ABAQUS/CAE

Benefits: New lighting controls in ABAQUS/CAE allow you to customize the effects of up to eight light sources around a model. The lighting controls are now available for all modules, including ABAQUS/Viewer.

Description: The Light Options dialog box controls all of the lighting effects on a model in the Shaded render style. Figure 2–6 shows all of the available options.

You can control the level of ambient light in a scene and the shininess of model surfaces. In addition, you can now add up to eight positional lights around a model. The positional lights create shading and reflections on a model. The position of these lights is user-defined, as is their diffuse intensity and the brightness of resulting specular highlights on a model. Different combinations of lighting effects can simulate different surface finishes or highlight geometric features on a model.
