Product: ABAQUS/CAE
Benefits: The Results Tree extends the Model Tree functionality by providing convenient access to session-specific objects such as history output, output database objects, and X–Y plots. In addition, the Results Tree provides shortcuts to much of the functionality of the main menu bar in the Visualization module, the module's toolboxes, and its various managers.
Description: The Model Tree and Results Tree share the same location on the left side of the ABAQUS/CAE main window. Each tree resides in its own tabbed page:
The Model page displays the Model Tree, which includes all of the objects in each open model. The functionality in this page is largely unchanged from the Model Tree in the previous release.
The Results page displays the Results Tree, which includes all of the session-specific objects that are available in your session. These objects include the history output in an output database; output database sets such as element sets, node sets, and surface sets; and X–Y plots and data.
Figure 23 shows the Results Tree for an ABAQUS/CAE session with two output databases open.
The shortcut capabilities in the Results Tree are similar to those in the Model Tree. Clicking mouse button 3 over an item in the Results Tree displays a menu that reproduces much of the functionality of the main menu bar, the module toolboxes, and the various managers in the Visualization module. For example, the menu allows you to display output for a particular frame, to plot history output, and to create and edit X–Y plots. When you become familiar with the Results Tree, you will find that you can use it to quickly and conveniently perform most of the tasks required to create and manage session-specific objects.
