52.2.3 Manipulating the view for an overlay plot

While you are in the overlay plot mode, you can choose whether view manipulations are applied to all existing layers or to only the current layer.

To manipulate the view for layers in an overlay plot:

  1. Create an overlay plot using the procedure described in Producing an overlay plot, Section 52.2.1.

  2. In the Overlay Plot Layer Manager, toggle All or Current next to View manipulation layer to specify whether you want the view manipulations that you apply to affect all the layers or only the current layer.

  3. Click Plot/Apply to apply your settings to the overlay plot in the current viewport.

  4. Use the view manipulation tools to position, orient, and magnify the objects in the viewport. (See Chapter 5, Manipulating the view and controlling perspective,” for information on the view manipulation tools.)

The view manipulations will be applied either to all the visible layers or to only the current layer, depending on your selection in Step 2.

When you have finished, you can click Cancel in the Overlay Plot Layer Manager to exit the overlay plot mode and to close the Overlay Plot Layer Manager. Alternatively, you can click Done in the prompt area to exit the overlay plot mode but leave the Overlay Plot Layer Manager open. The overlay plot disappears from the viewport, and the display returns to the previous plot mode. To recreate your overlay plot, select ViewOverlay Plot (if the Overlay Plot Layer Manager is not open) and click Plot/Apply.
