Description: You can create arrows and text separately, and you can create an arrow annotation with a text annotation positioned at the tail of the arrow. Even if you create arrow and text annotations together, ABAQUS/CAE saves each one separately; you can move and edit them independently after you create them. Arrow and text annotations are anchored to points in either viewport geometry or model geometry. Depending on the anchor points that you select, the annotations can move with model manipulations or with changes in viewport geometry. Figure 2–9 shows two viewport annotations on a part. The annotation near the upper right corner is anchored to the model. The annotation near the lower left corner has the arrowhead anchored to the model geometry; the arrow's tail and the text are anchored to the viewport.

You can reposition the annotations directly in the viewport or open an editor dialog box to enter new coordinates; select or enter new anchor points; or change arrowheads, line styles, colors, and fonts. You can use the Annotation Manager to edit, copy, rename, and delete annotations or to plot them in the current viewport.

Use the tools in the Viewport toolbox, shown in Figure 2–10, to create and manipulate viewports and viewport annotations.
