Product: ABAQUS/CAE
Benefits: The Model Tree provides a visual description of the hierarchy of objects in a model, and it is a convenient tool for navigating and managing your models. In addition, the Model Tree provides shortcuts to much of the functionality of the main menu bar, the module toolboxes, and the various managers.
Description: The Model Tree appears on the left side of the ABAQUS/CAE main window. For example, Figure 25 shows the appearance of the Model Tree after completing the cantilever beam analysis in Appendix B, Creating and Analyzing a Simple Model in ABAQUS/CAE,” of Getting Started with ABAQUS.
The arrangement of the objects in the Model Tree reflects the order in which you are expected to create your model. A similar logic governs the order of the modules in the module menu.Clicking mouse button 3 over an item in the Model Tree displays a menu that reproduces much of the functionality of the main menu bar, the module toolboxes, and the various managers. For example, the menu allows you to switch modules, create and edit objects, and suppress and resume objects. When you become familiar with the Model Tree, you will find that you can use it to quickly and conveniently perform most of the tasks required to create and manage your models.
You can toggle off the display of the Model Tree by selecting ViewShow Model Tree from the main menu bar. Typing [Cntrl]+T has the same effect.
