Software Defined Networking at the Tactical Edge

Talk by Prof. Raj Jain at Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangaluru, India, September 10, 2016.

ABSTRACT
Software defined networking has now been accepted by the industry. However, there are several variations of it. In this talk, we discuss these variations and explain what SDN is and what it is not. After a brief discussion of recent trends, we argue that the future lies in extending SDN concepts to virtualizing cloud computing. This allows applications to span multiple clouds of varying sizes and at different locations. This multi-cloud has applications in industry, networking, and defense applications.
