While Ethernet is trying to replace SONET/SDH in the carrier networks, SONET itself is changing to better meet the new demands of data traffic. Which technology is best for metro networks: Ethernet or next-gen SONET?
IP and Ethernet everywhere is a well known trend. However, the telecom revenue is still predominantly from leased line services. What approaches are being proposed to overcome this problem?
