"Parameter Values for Satellite Links," ATM Forum/95-972R1, August 1995

In this contribution, we examine the effect of the source parameters Xrm and XDF on long delay paths like satellite paths. We observe low throughput in the absence of congestion even for a simple one source configuration. We propose an increase in the length of the Xrm parameter from 8 bits to 32 bits to account for large bandwidth-delay product links. Note: this proposal was accepted in the revision 8 of TM version 4.0
