BOARDLOCK project

Project Overview

You've heard of BIRD Scooter and LimeBike... now we present to you BOARDLOCK, an electric Longboard equipped with a remote-control motor, iPhone-accessible GPS, and Bluetooth wheel-locking capabilities. In this project, our team aims to manufacture a rapid transportation method of utmost quality, aesthetics, and convenience.

Objectives

• Attach a brushless motor to the underside of our Longboard's deck

• Set up Raspberry Pi: successfully SSH in, email ourselves IP address

• Manually control the ESC motor using the Pi: wire connections, program Pi in Python

• Get GPS working

• Be able to access BOARDLOCK's location at all times from phone

Reach Objectives

• Establish Bluetooth connection from phone to Raspberry Pi

• Be able to lock and unlock BOARDLOCK's wheels

Challenges

• Learning to ride BOARDLOCK

• Learning how Raspberry Pi works

• Learning to code in Python

• Having the ability to access BOARDLOCK's current location in real time from a phone
