38.3 Creating an amplitude

Select ToolsAmplitudeCreate from the main menu bar to create an amplitude. For detailed information on amplitudes, see “Amplitude curves,” Section 27.1.2 of the ABAQUS Analysis User's Manual.

To create an amplitude:

  1. From the main menu bar, select ToolsAmplitudeCreate.

    Tip:  You can also create an amplitude by clicking Create in the Amplitude Manager.

    The Create Amplitude dialog box appears.

  2. In the Name field, enter a name for the amplitude. For information on naming objects, see “Using basic dialog box components,” Section 3.2.1.

  3. From the Type list, select the type of amplitude that you want to create and then click Continue.

    The amplitude editor appears in which you can enter all of the data necessary to define the amplitude. For special table editing options or to read data from an ASCII file, press mouse button 3. (For more information, see “Entering tabular data,” Section 3.2.7.)
