When you are prompted to select an object from the viewport, ABAQUS/CAE provides selection options tools that can make it easier and more efficient for you to make the desired selection.

From the prompt area, click the selection options tool to configure the selection options. Selection options remain in effect for the current ABAQUS/CAE session.

Figure 6–7 shows the layout of the selection options tools.
