Benefits: Import of the viscoelastic material model opens up a new set of analysis techniques. Two examples are (i) Tire analysis: the tire can be inflated in ABAQUS/Standard, and the results transferred to ABAQUS/Explicit for carrying out curbside impact—inclusion of viscoelasticity provides more realistic simulation of the actual process; and (ii) Glass forming: The forming operation can be carried out in ABAQUS/Standard, and the resulting glass structure (possibly with residual stresses) can be imported into ABAQUS/Explicit for drop/impact testing.
Description: The viscoelastic material model can be used in an import analysis to transfer results between ABAQUS/Explicit and ABAQUS/Standard and vice versa or to transfer results from one ABAQUS/Standard analysis to another.
