Product: ABAQUS/Standard
The submodeling capability is applied to axisymmetric stress/displacement elements with twist. The submodels cut the global model along lines that are diagonal to the global model's regular geometry. The static analysis procedure is used.
The global model dimensions are 8.0 × 1.5 in the – plane.
Material:Step I boundary conditions:
Along the left face of the model =0. One node is further constrained so that =0.
Step I loading:
In all models a pressure of 1.0 × 106 is applied to the right-hand face. (A figure with the same geometry and loading is shown in Two-dimensional continuum stress/displacement submodeling, Section 3.6.2, except with rectangular Cartesian coordinate axes and instead of the cylindrical coordinate axes and .)
Step II boundary conditions:
The bottom face is constrained in all degrees of freedom.
Step II loading:
In all models a twist of 0.01 radians is applied to the top face.
In all cases the nodal displacements for the driven nodes in the submodels are correctly interpolated from the global model results. In the cases presented, element and nodal responses in the submodels match the responses in the global models.
