15.14.9 Defining a stop

You can limit values of the admissible range of motion for one or more available components of relative motion. For more information, see Connector stops and locks, Section 17.2.8 of the ABAQUS Analysis User's Manual.

To create or edit a stop:

  1. Display the connector property editor using one of the following methods:

    • To create a new connector property, follow the procedure outlined in Creating connector properties, Section 15.11.7.

    • To edit an existing connector property, select ConnectorPropertyManager from the main menu bar, select the connector property from the list that appears, and click Edit.

  2. In the Edit Connector Property dialog box, do one of the following:

    • To define a new stop option, click Add and select Stop from the option menu that appears.

    • To edit an existing stop option, select the option from the Behavior Options list to display the associated data fields for that option.

  3. In the Components field, toggle on all of the available components of relative motion for which you are defining a stop. If you want to specify different limits for different components, you must specify multiple stop options.

  4. In the Admissible Positions at Stop portion of the editor, enter the limits for the admissible positions of the available components of relative motion that will trigger the stop.
