6.3 Removal of limitations for domain-level parallelization in ABAQUS/Explicit

Product: ABAQUS/Explicit

Benefits: Domain-level parallelization can now be used for ABAQUS/Explicit analyses even if surface erosion is modeled with general contact. In addition, rigid bodies can now be split across parallel domains, allowing for improved parallel performance.

Description: Domain-level parallelization was available in previous versions of ABAQUS/Explicit and typically results in better performance than loop-level parallelization. Together with the removal of the limitations mentioned above, domain-level parallelization has been made the default in Version 6.5. In addition, you no longer need to specify the number of domains; by default, this number is set equal to the number of processors chosen for parallel execution.
