Product: ABAQUS/Standard
Benefits: User-defined matrices can be input directly into ABAQUS/Standard.
Description: You can now input matrices directly into ABAQUS/Standard. A matrix can be used to represent stiffness for a part of the model or the entire model. It is defined by giving it a unique name and by specifying matrix data that may be scaled. It can be given in lower triangular, upper triangular, or square (including both lower and upper triangles) format. It can be used to provide linear elastic response with large translations in static analysis. Only the symmetric equation solver can be used for a model containing a matrix; therefore, the matrix must be symmetric. Except for body forces most loads, boundary conditions, and constraints can be applied directly to nodes on a matrix. A matrix cannot be used in a model containing parts and assemblies.
