Instructions for Local Viewing of Audio/Video Recordings You need the latest version of RealPlayer G2 to use the audio/video recordings. This player is available free from http://www.real.com/products/player/index.html Free version (available on the top right corner of the screen) is sufficient, plus version is not required. Make sure you have G2 version (version 7 or higher). Older versions of real player do not support SMIL files and will NOT work. The Instructions for local playback are as follows: 1. Unzip the file in a separate empty directory. For example, md C:\temp pkunzip filename.zip C:\temp 2. In the directory, look for a file with extension .smi Start the RealPlayer and open the above file using RealPlayer's open file command. The audio/video as well as the slides are fetched from local disk. Network connection does not need to be on for playing this file. For a complete view, your screen size should be 800X600 or larger. Also, change the view of your RealPlayer to Compact using the view menu on the tool bar. The speed of your processor and disks affects the quality of the audio/video. If the sound is not perfect (e.g., syllables are repeated), try it on a faster computer. In general, slides+audio gives a better voice quality than slides+video.
