This contribution proposes several performance metrics for comparing ATM switches. This is the first such contribution in response to the decision in the October 1,995 meeting of the Test group, where it was decided that benchmarking will be addressed by the group. The goal of this contribution is to begin the discussion.

Since the metrics to be addressed include several related to traffic management, it is being distributed to TM group as well.
