<sidebar>Robotic Sensing: Adaptive Robotic Control for Improved Acoustic Source Localization in 2D Nav</sidebar>

We examined the extent to which pointing rotation improved source estimation. It was found that the system improvements varied depending on the particular placement of the source. Below is an example of the improvement observed when the source was outside of the physical constraints of robotic movement. Here the linear, no rotated situation was compared to that with pointing rotation. The effect of the point on the web of points and on the resolution can easily be seen.

As can be seen by the box at the top left of the pointed web of point, a 52.5% in resolution results from the pointing rotation.
