Coordinate systems defined during postprocessing are available by default only until the associated output database file is closed. You must save these coordinate systems to the output database file if you want them to be available in future ABAQUS/CAE sessions. Local coordinate systems defined during the analysis are written automatically to the output database. You can only append data to the output database; you cannot modify the contents of the file in any other way (i.e., once a coordinate system has been saved to the output database, it cannot be modified, renamed, or deleted).
Note: By default, ABAQUS/CAE opens output database files as read-only. You must choose to open an output database file with write privileges if you want to save any data, such as coordinate systems, to it (see Opening a model database or an output database, Section 9.7.2, for more information).
To save a user-defined coordinate system to an output database file:
From the main menu bar, select ToolsCoordinate SystemManager.
The Coordinate System Manager appears. By default, Current session is toggled on and the coordinate systems that have been defined for the current output database during the current session are listed.
Select the user-defined coordinate systems that you wish to save, and click Move to ODB from the buttons on the right side of the dialog box.
If the current output database file was opened with write permissions, the selected coordinate systems are moved from the current session list to the current output database list. To see the list of coordinate systems that have been saved to the current output database file, toggle on Current ODB.
