15.15 Vector image output

Product: ABAQUS/CAE

Benefits: Vector PS, EPS, and SVG images of your models and results scale well for use in reports and presentations.

Description: When you print any viewport image to a PostScript printer or file or an Encapsulated PostScript file, you can choose whether to output the image in vector or raster format (in previous versions of ABAQUS/CAE wireframe images were always output in vector format and hidden, filled, or shaded images were always output in raster format). Vector images are scalable and resolution independent. Raster (or bitmap) images are pixelated and resolution dependent and tend to decrease in quality when they are scaled. For vector images you can also choose how curved surfaces will be shaded.

In addition, a new vector image format is available for printing: Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an industry-standard language for describing two-dimensional graphics in XML.
